Geohazards and projects of interest have been determined through a series of meetings with local Tribal government, Council, and wider community engagement. The research is steered by our Connectors and partners in each community and the data is theirs to own and use as they see fit. After rockslides impacted Skagway's cruise ship terminal in 2022, the Ḵutí team performed rockfall susceptibiltiy and runout analysis in the area, using clast size and land cover to determine runout potential. A geomorphic map was created as well as an inventory of historic events. Drone LIDAR surveys revealed rock structures and high-resolution topography, and a nodal seismology campaign allowed for structural analysis and analysis of ridgeline response to environmental and anthropogenic perturbations. A rockfall analysis manuscript has been submitted to the journal of Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (NHESS).
